  • Today, we celebrated MAPS testing growth. It was noticeable that more boys were progressing than in the past couple of years. I hope this trend continues.
  • I'm struggling to keep some of my classes moving forward. The pace of work completion varies so much from student to student. It's hard to move on when some students are so far behind.
  • Balloons haunt me. Students have been pretty engaged in a balloon rocket lab, but the random popping has me on edge.
  • I entered social studies notebook and Do Now grades.
  • The Race version of Blooket turned out to be a perfect retrieval practice activity.
  • I received a notification that my ruck pack arrived today. I’m pretty excited to build routines around using it.
  • I need to prepare data snapshots for tomorrow so my Crew can write their S.M.A.R.T. goals.
  • I received some positive feedback regarding the short email I send out on Wednesdays. Now, I need to tell my readers they can elect to receive one or both. I was nervous to add a second email during the week because I didn’t want to chase anyone off. So far, the response has been mostly positive.
  • I do have a goal to expand my newsletter offering so that it will be a small stream of retirement income, but that is secondary to sharing something useful and maintaining a positive outlook on teaching and life.
