Quote
"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” — Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
Resource
In teaching, there are so many circumstances outside our control—policy changes, curriculum demands, unexpected disruptions, or the mood of a class on a tough day.
One practical way to reclaim your freedom to choose your response is to pause and name your perspective before entering the classroom. Try writing a quick one-line intention on a sticky note: “Today I will choose patience,” or “I will focus on curiosity over control.” Placing it on your desk or planner can gently anchor your mindset, no matter what unfolds.
Now Repeat...
I have the power to choose my attitude in every moment. My strength lies not in controlling circumstances, but in shaping how I respond with presence, patience, and hope.
Journal Prompt
