The STRONG Teacher 4H Reflection
Four questions. Five minutes. A simple end-of-day reflection, and the research behind why it works.
The bell rings, the room empties, and the day keeps going in your head.
You replay the lesson that flopped on the drive home. You rehearse tomorrow’s conversation in the shower. By the time you sit down for the evening, you’ve lived the day two or three times, and most of the replays went to the worst parts.
The 4H Reflection is how I close the day instead. Four questions, one line each, about five minutes.
Highlight. What went well today?
Horizon. What are you looking forward to?
Hiccup. What small snag did you hit?
Harvest. What did today teach you?
That’s the whole practice. Write it down. A notebook, the notes app, the back of an attendance sheet. It doesn’t need to be pretty. It needs to be on paper (or a screen), not just in your head.
Try it tonight. You don’t need anything else to start.
But if you want to know why these four questions, and how to make the habit stick past the second week, that’s below.
