Sometimes when I'm teaching I feel like a salesman who can't make a sale.

Watching 8th graders sign up for their high school classes is one of the highlights of the school year. It's when they start taking more control over their lives. I also know that each year some of my students will use the change in schools as an opportunity to redefine the kind of student and person they want to be.


Three Things is a (mostly) daily record of thoughts, questions, inspiration, gratitude, and stuff that made my day better or made me better. Once written, I send them out into the world and invite serendipity.
