Here are a few things worth sharing: Formative, Clutter to Clarity, and running on fumes.

  • In science today we debriefed an Exothermic / Endothermic investigation using Formative. I really started to dig some of the features, especially being able to anonymously look at student work together as we discuss strengths and areas for growth.
  • I took another step in completing my self-imposed clean desk challenge. As I dig into the research I can find benefits for both. These days I feel better mentally when my workspace is free of clutter. I also seem to be more productive. You can read more here and here. Pictures will be coming soon. If you are interested in exploring the connection between mindset and clutter this*  may be a good resource.

I didn’t expect this school year to be as challenging as it’s been. I’m a tired teacher. If you feel it too, this article may be of interest to you. I’d be interested to hear what you think. The work of teaching is noble. Keep fighting the good fight.

Today's Crew quote was by Karen Salmansohn. In our school, each homeroom is called a Crew. We share a reading each morning to kick off the day.

Collect moments, not things.
