Nobody told you this clearly enough in your teacher credentialing program: rest isn’t something you earn.
You don’t get to rest after the grading is done. (It’s never done.) You don’t get to rest once the unit is polished. There’s always another unit. Rest isn’t waiting at the finish line—it’s part of the race. The teachers I know who are still standing after twenty years? They figured out how to stop. Not permanently. Just regularly.
