The Benefits of Quizizz: A Powerful Tool for Formative Assessments in the Classroom

Educators are always looking for ways to improve the learning experience for our students. One tool that has gained popularity in recent years is Quizizz, a formative assessment platform that offers a variety of benefits for both teachers and students. Quizizz is easily in my top three as far as formative assessment tools.

Formative assessments are assessments that are used to evaluate student learning and provide feedback to improve that learning. These types of assessments differ from summative assessments which are used to evaluate overall learning at the end of a unit or course. Formative assessments are critical because they help teachers identify areas where students need additional support or instruction, and adjust their teaching methods accordingly. They help teachers take corrective action well before the final test. Most Fridays my students take a quick quiz to see how well they did with the content during the week.
