Here are a few days worth.

  • Finished up the second day of student-led conferences. Everyone showed up which is wonderful and rare. I hope our discussions will do some good.
  • We managed to clean up the mess we left after our World War II kick-off event. I think we were able to spark some curiosity in our 8th graders. We even pulled off some role-playing.
  • The second half of the day we had to ourselves. There was a small team planning session and then I had the rest of the time to work in my room. I spent a good portion of it preparing for the upcoming Waves Unit.

  • The science fair displays for ECybermission were put on display today. Some of them turned out to be beautiful. Students completed reflections on their project work during science class. These reflections and their work will be shared at student-led conferences.
  • Tomorrow is the kick-off day for the World War II Unit. I will hopefully hold student engagement after a long morning of state testing.
  • Long day tomorrow with conferences in the evening.
  • Our school will be showcased for Better World Day. This will be awesome and more work at the same time.
  • Sent out today’s STRONG Teacher email. The theme was curiosity.

  • It seems like many 8th graders have lost their motivation. It sure is tough to teach when that happens.
  • Forward testing is on the horizon. Today we practiced using the online test tools.
