Micro Moments, Major Impact
Discover how tiny habits—like microbreaks, mini stretches, and small wins—can create more ease and energy in your teaching and life. This week’s Why Edify Weekly is all about the power of small resets to help you feel better and teach stronger.
This week I am excited to share a new podcast episode where I interview Dave Burgess. We explore the following topics:
- Why student engagement is more than a buzzword
- How reflective teaching makes lessons unforgettable
- The importance of honoring your identity and outside passions
- Practical earned wisdom on handling parent conflict and burnout
- Educators, leaders, and lifelong learners—this conversation is a rally cry to teach boldly, live authentically, and create meaningful impact.
Dave definitely brings the energy. You can listen to it or watch it here.

Happier
Mindset shift: Celebrate the small wins.
Even in summer, it’s easy to overlook the little successes—whether it’s that student’s breakthrough, a lesson well‑planned, or even simply making it to class with energy. Try this: at day’s end, jot down one thing that went well. Over time, these small notes build resilience and joy. It works in the off season too!
Healthier
Wellness practice: Daily mini stretch.
Stand by a window, chair, or wall and take 60 seconds to stretch your neck, shoulders, or spine—whatever feels tight. Do this three times a day. When the body loosens, stress unwinds, and posture returns. These small body resets help you feel more grounded and ready for whatever’s next.
Stronger
Professional growth tip: Reflective teaching journal.
At the end of each week, write one short reflection: What worked? What felt challenging? What surprised you? Over time, this builds insight into your own teaching habits and priorities, guiding you toward incremental, meaningful change.
